Ironton is the Lawrence County seat and about twenty-five minutes west of our shop on US-52, making it a regular Ohio-side stop. The historic downtown and the streets off Park Avenue are lined with brick homes from the iron-furnace era — tall ceilings, narrow kitchens, and appliances squeezed into alcoves that were built for a much smaller stove.
Those older houses keep us busy with refrigerators that run warm in the summer humidity off the river, dryers venting through long basement runs, and ranges older than their owners. Newer homes toward Coal Grove and the Ironton–Russell Bridge bring the electronic failures instead. Ordered parts arrive in three to five days and the return visit is booked on the next Ironton run.
